This interactive work shop helps you understand neurodiversity\, communicate more inclusively a nd create environments where everyone can contribute. You will explore wh at neurodiversity means\, how different thinking and working styles can s how up in university life and the workplace\, and practical strategies fo r being a more inclusive peer\, teammate and future colleague.

The session is relevant whether you are neurodivergent yourse lf\, work alongside neurodivergent peers or simply want to be part of mor e inclusive teams. You will leave with clearer language\, practical appro aches and greater confidence to support inclusion in group work\, societi es\, placements and future employment.

What will we cover?

What i s neurodiversity? \;Key terms\, common profiles (e.g. autism \, ADHD\, dyslexia\, dyspraxia\, Tourette’s) and the strengths and challe nges that can come with different ways of thinking\, learning and communi cating.
Barriers and inclusion: \;How enviro nments\, expectations and assumptions can create barriers for neurodiverg ent students and staff\, and how small adjustments can make a big differe nce.
Inclusive communication: \;Practical st rategies for clear\, respectful communication\, giving and receiving feed back\, and working effectively across different styles.
T eamwork and collaboration: \;How to share responsibilities a nd create psychologically safe spaces where people can be themselves.
Employability and professional practice: \;How neuro-inclusive practice connects to workplace expectations\, reasonable adjustments and the skills employers value in diverse teams.
