About the event
Come along to our weekly social on Tuesday 7th March at 6pm in Meeting room 1/2 in The Hub. We will be making posters themed around what you'd like to see round campus for queer people.
This session we will be focusing on awarness and safety round campus. We will be discussing what you would like to see round campus that would make you feel more seen and show that the university is a safe space for the LGBTQIA+ community. We will also be discussing queer spaces around coventry in general.
Feel free to bring any craft supplies you have of your own to use for your posters as we have limited supplies, pens, paper, etc. Also feel free to bring something digital to create your poster if that's more your style.
This is a bit different from our usual sit back creative sessions but it will still be enjoyable and a break from university work, there is no obligation to take part in the discussions, you can just come and draw if that's what you would prefer.
Any discussions we have will be respecting and accepting of everyones opinions, we want an open conversation. Disrespect and hate speech will not be tolerated in our space.
Our socials are a place for people to feel safe and able to be themselves, free from judgement and preconceptions. We as a society aim to be a safe space for everyone in the LGBTQIA+ community.
You need a membership to attend our socials, memberships help to keep the society running, helping us pay for activities and show the Union that people want to be a part of the society. The only accepting to this is taster sessions, these will be the first two socials of the semester.
Hope to see lots of you there.
