Free Period Products:

1 in 8 people who have periods in the UK have struggled to buy period products for themselves or dependents as of May 2022. Period poverty is only getting worse with the cost-of-living crisis meaning we’ve all got less money for essentials. We do not want any of you, as our students, being in a position where you have to choose between being able to engage in University life and purchasing essential period products.

So in hopes of helping you out, Your Students’ Union have collaborated with the University to start an initiative to give out period products entirely for free to all Coventry University Group students. Each campus will have their own stock of period products to provide to students.

For Coventry University and CU Coventry students, this will be via a discreet click and collect service available on the website. You will order your period products online, visit Your Students’ Union welcome space on the first floor of the Hub (open 9am – 8pm, Monday to Friday), ask for the bag colour and present your Student ID. One of our helpful student staff members will then provide you with the products.

Coventry University London, CU Coventry, CU London (Dagenham), CU London (Greenwich) and CU Scarborough campuses will also have their own stock dedicated specifically to their students to give out which will be available in the near future. Keep an eye on campus specific newsletters and social media to find out more about this, when they will be available, and how you can access them.

With being ethical one of our key strategic objectives, the products we have purchased to give to you are entirely vegan, cruelty-free and sustainably sourced - all created by Grace & Green. There are a mix of tampons and pads in different levels of absorption, available in both organic cotton and bamboo materials so we have tried to ensure that there is a product available that is suitable for everyone.

Free condoms for Coventry University and CU Coventry students:

Not only this, but sexual health should be a priority for everyone. Practicing in safe sex is important for yours and others mental, emotional and physical health. Your Students’ Union will be giving out free condoms to any students who need them at Coventry University and CU Coventry campus.

They are all Skyn Elite latex free condoms and will be given out in packs of 10. They will be available in a discreet click and collect service. Order the products online and visit Your Students’ Union welcome space on the first floor of The Hub where you will ask for a “stripy bag” and one of our friendly student staff will get the products for you.
