The purpose of our society is to share our Nepalese culture with the rest of students and staff members in Coventry. Our society goes by the name of NSCU, which stands for Nepalese Society Coventry University. We believe that no matter wherever you are around the world, we should be proud to promote and share our culture with everyone. This is why we welcome everyone and anyone to join Nepalese society, whether you are Nepalese or not. We even have a committee member who isn't Nepalese for this year as we take pride in inclusivity.
Our Aims are to:
Weekly Activities:
Seasonal Activities:
Last year we had a range of events ranging from Chiya and Chat sessions discussing controversial topics in the community, guest speakers from Merging NepSocs, to a bar crawl, several social collabs with other West Midlands Nepalese societies and our famous momo night to round things up for the year, which the turn out was an absolute success!
Our biggest event last year was the Midlands Inter-Uni Ball where we had collabed with all the Nepalese societies in the Midlands and had the event in Nottingham. We had a lot of performances on the night ranging from dances to singing from each university, including our very own dance collab with Warwick University. We have established a really good partnership with Nepalese societies with Warwick University and universities in Birmingham. For 2023/24 we are hoping to keep these partnerships and create new ones with several other societies within Coventry and other universities through collabs.
We would like to invite you to join our society, to share our culture, be able to feel at home away from home and have fun with us. We promise you that you will not be disappointed. We hope to see you soon.
Membership fee:
The membership fee will be £5 for the academic year 2023/24.
