Our Volunteering activities kicked off during Welcome Week in September and continued throughout the semester. We ran a total of 15 Volunteering Taster Days at both Coventry British Heart Foundation and Coventry Food Bank locations. During these events we had a total of 130 volunteers – who in total completed 405 hours of volunteering. The Volunteering workshops were also attended by 57 volunteers, who learnt a range of skills with our team.

In all, we registered 826 volunteers on our online portal and visited 16 charitable organisations. During the Volunteering Fairs, we had 122 students attend, who applied for 371 opportunities offered at the fair.

Our Sports teams were equally as busy during first semester, taking part in BUCS fixtures and competitions across the country. We have a total of 40 active sports clubs, ranging from Equestrian to Football. There were a huge 2230 hours of sports club training carried out by 1182 student members.

There were 8 sports club workshops in the first semester, which culminated in 160 trained sports club officials. Finally, our 65 teams (including 2 National League teams) completed 200 BUCS fixtures. Well done to everyone involved!

Finally, our Societies complete semester one after a successful first 13 weeks of term. We currently have 62 active Societies here at Coventry University, with 14 new or newly adopted Societies. Within this 62 Societies, there has been a total of 2259 Society Memberships signed by 1470 individual members. The Activities team hosted 14 Society Development workshops and helped to train 234 committee members.
