Our full time and part time Officers have been crucial to delivering Welcome events throughout the year, whether that be during the traditional Sept/Jan/May dates or the CU Group Block Welcome periods. Across the UK at our multiple locations, the team have helped to facilities a range of activities and events to support new students!

Bianca, Your Education Officer, has reflected on her highlight of her year in office. She picked out one event in particular as a highlight: "I have numerous cherished memories with students and SU staff, but if I had to select one, the Reps Karaoke Night at the London Campus stands out as truly exceptional! ⁠

"I am immensely grateful to Mahbub, the Campus Officer, for assisting me in organising this event and spreading the word throughout the campus. ⁠

"We had an incredible amount of fun, and I cannot express enough gratitude to the enthusiastic and eager students who made the evening so memorable.”

Catherine, Your Community Officer, has spent the last six months working on a project designed to combat Student Loneliness on campus. The findings have gone into providing the SU with specific ideas for new events, campaigns and activities moving forwards, and will have long term tangible effects on the student experience at Coventry.

Chisom, Your Activities Officer, was able to support Sport Coventry to plan and deliver Varsity 2023 – unfortunately it wasn’t the result we wanted, but we go again next year!

Finally, Desmond worked with Your Advice Service closely to provide students with Cost of Living support where possible. This involved speaking to local businesses as well as to the University to try and aid students who have struggled with rising costs.

Our part time officers have supported the work of the full time officers where possible, but also have achieved their own milestones throughout 2022/23. Highlights include Kirsty (PGR Officer) lobbying relevant organisations over PGR Stipends, Helen and her team of Reps rolling out a series of new events at CU Coventry and Mahbub’s ongoing good work being recognised as he embarks on his third stint as Coventry University London Campus Officer. All of the work across campuses and faculties has helped the SU to support more students.
