Fairtrade and Responsible Futures
Working alongside the University, we champion Fairtrade practices and support Responsible Futures for our students.

Fair Trade
We support and promote the principles set out by the Fairtrade Foundation which aims to set social, economic, and environmental standards for companies and farmers involved in supply chains. These standards include the protection of workers’ rights, the environment and providing a fair price so that producers and workers earn a secure and sustainable livelihood. We believe that we should use our collective purchasing power to create positive impacts to people and the environment. Collectively as a student body we will promote, lobby and work in partnership with the University and suppliers to review the use of Fairtrade products across our supply chain. We will actively promote and support student-led campaigns that embed the principles of Fairtrade amongst our student body and student groups.

Responsible Futures
We recognise that we have the potential and drive to become global future leaders and that higher education is a key tool used to equip students with the skills, abilities and values needed to succeed at this. We believe that all students should have access to resources and education which equips them with the skills to tackle sustainability, inequalities, lack of cultural diversity and to contribute to a global culture of peace, reconciliation and non-violence. We support, encourage and work towards embedding Social Responsibility and Sustainability (SRS) across the formal and informal curriculum as well as through extra-curricular activities such as societies, sports, campaigning, volunteering and more. Through our partnership with the university, we will promote and strive towards ensuring that all students across Coventry University Group have the opportunity to graduate as Global Citizens with knowledge of how to promote and actively fight for sustainable development.
