Every year we give students the opportunity to tell us what could be improved about your student experience, what you want to see more of and how we can support you better.
Your Students’ Union exists to positively impact your educational experience. To do this, we need your input! We will use your feedback to shape your future experience by providing the services, events and activities you want to see. In last year's survey:
92% of students who filled out the survey said they knew how to engage with the SU.
70% of students said they were aware of at least one of the campaigns we ran.
We know it can feel repetitive filling out surveys, and sometimes it can feel like your response gets lost, but we promise we listen! Our staff team and Officers are dedicated to reviewing and analysing feedback and turning responses into actions.
Here are some of the changes we’ve made in response to student insight.
Since the last survey, we have opened an events space (called Square One) to host a variety of events. Student feedback around the style of events and activities made this happen.
You said that you wanted an opportunity to get involved in sport more casually. This year we created our Social Sport programme based on your feedback, creating more opportunities for student participation.
For a few years in a row, trip opportunities had been requested. This year, we partnered with UniLife to deliver affordable trips and tours. Your responses made this happen!
In previous years, students told us they wanted more affordable food and drinks on campus. We now have outlets on campus that deliver high-quality food and drink at budget-friendly prices. Most outlets have student staff working part-time in them too!
We launched a bespoke online feedback platform to make feedback easier and more accessible to provide feedback. You can track the progress of your feedback as it gets resolved or escalated! Making sure you voice gets heard is important to us.
