About the event

Join us for an empowering networking event designed to bring women together for meaningful conversation, shared learning, and professional growth. This evening will incorporate a panel discussion on the Journey of Women in STEM, offering authentic insights into their paths, challenges, and achievements.

This dynamic panel discussion, where our speakers will explore what it means to build a career in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. From navigating male‑dominated spaces to embracing leadership, innovation, and resilience, their stories aim to inform, motivate, and inspire. 

Our panel includes:

  • Dr Alison Halford  (Assistant Professor Research at CSMM, Leading International Programmes focused on widening participation in STEM including British Council Initiatives, member of WES), 

  • Patricia Ashman (Former Associate Head of School of Engineering at CU and Diversity and Inclusion Board member at Women’s Engineer Society (WES) UK)

  • Helen Busby (Lecturer in Mathematics)

  • Dr Sharon Williams (Assistant Professor and Course Director for “Analytical Chemistry and Forensic Science”
