About the event

Curious about working with charities, social enterprises or non-profits, but not sure where to start? This workshop will help you unpack what the “third sector” is, how it makes a difference, and where you might fit into the sector.

You’ll explore the roles that exist beyond frontline charity work – from fundraising and campaigning to comms, project management and policy – and how volunteering can be a powerful way to test the waters and build experience.

Through activities and real‑world examples, you’ll map your own skills and interests into third sector opportunities, and pick up practical tips on finding roles, talking about your volunteering on applications, and spotting values‑led employers.

You’ll leave with clearer ideas about whether this industry is for you, plus some simple next steps to get involved!
