For four years, Alex has been a committed committee member - and most recently President - of Coventry University’s LGBTQIA+ Society, driven by a determination to preserve and strengthen the safe, affirming space that once supported them. Under their leadership, the society has continued to thrive as a welcoming and empowering community. They have organised impactful initiatives, including LGBT+ History Month events, officer training sessions in collaboration with the university’s media team, and the ongoing Rainbow Laces campaign with sports clubs. Their work consistently goes beyond events; they focus on building belonging, ensuring students feel valued, represented, and safe.

As LGBTQ+ Community Engagement Lead for a second consecutive year, Alex has championed meaningful institutional change. They developed and delivered Trans Awareness Training, including presenting at a Student Leadership Conference, where their session was met with overwhelmingly positive feedback. They have led the Gender Expression Fund campaign and have been instrumental in advocating for improvements to the university’s trans student policy, particularly the non-legal name change process. By gathering lived experiences from trans students and presenting these to senior leadership - including the Dean of Students and the Board of Governors - Alex has ensured trans voices are heard at the highest level. Their advocacy has been constructive, balanced, and solutions-focused, highlighting both positive progress and areas for development.

Beyond the university, Alex serves as a regional ambassador for It Gets Better, helping to amplify stories of hope and resilience for LGBTQ+ youth. They also contributed to a trans and non-binary steering group with Student Minds, supporting the creation of national online resources for trans+ students and participating in related media projects, including a podcast and informational video.

Alongside their community leadership, Alex has demonstrated outstanding professionalism as a long-standing Students’ Union staff member and SU Assistant. Over nearly four years, they have played a pivotal role in recruiting, mentoring, and onboarding new SU Assistants, providing reassurance, guidance, and consistent peer support. Their administrative skills are exemplary; they produce clear and detailed notes in Student Voice meetings, support society elections and departmental initiatives, and work collaboratively across teams with reliability and care. As part of the Triage team, they operate independently and proactively, with a strong understanding of student support processes and the Advice Service, which they confidently promote during outreach events.

Alex has also represented the Students’ Union during Open Days, speaking with prospective students and families with warmth and authenticity. As a School Representative for Engineering, they actively gather feedback, encourage student engagement, and promote representative roles within lectures. Across every responsibility - from reception and administrative duties to high-level EDI discussions - Alex consistently goes above and beyond to ensure students feel supported and empowered.

What distinguishes Alex is their integrity, compassion, and unwavering commitment to inclusion. Whether advocating for systemic policy change, mentoring peers, delivering training, or creating community spaces, they embody the core values of inclusion, empowerment, community, and student voice. During two years involved in CUAS as both an active member and committee member, she has consistently worked to make the society accessible and welcoming to all. In her second year, while campaigning for the Treasurer role, she launched the #PinkSpecCUAS movement to challenge stereotypes and show that CUAS is a place where everyone belongs, contributing to a 250% increase in female membership.

As Treasurer, she developed a packed events calendar featuring activities such as F1 Arcade and Motorcycle Live, offering members opportunities to socialise, explore their passions, and engage with the automotive and motorcycle industries in inclusive environments. She also organised successful collaborations with other societies, including a karting event with CUKC and Loughborough University, a gaming and movies night with the Aerospace Society, and led the Women in STEM collaboration for IWD 2026, bringing her real-world industry experience to support female members.

Her most inspirational contribution was a panel discussion as part of Automotive Insights, where she shared her career journey in the automotive industry, highlighted the challenges women face, and showcased support networks such as the Women's Engineering Society, Women in STEM, and Girls on Track UK, inspiring members to pursue their goals with determination and resilience.

This year, they have taken a purposeful approach to positively shaping the university experience, with a particular focus on supporting international students adjusting to life away from home. As a Student Ambassador, they have actively contributed to multiple Open Days, welcoming prospective students and their families, and helping create a reassuring and inclusive environment. Drawing from their own experiences, they have provided honest insight, guidance, and encouragement, ensuring students feel a sense of belonging from the moment they arrive.

Beyond formal roles, they took the initiative to introduce a traditional Indian breakfast item to the campus café after hearing from fellow international students who missed familiar foods, a change that was met with overwhelming appreciation. They have also built a trusted informal support network for international students, offering practical guidance, emotional support, and advice on navigating university systems. Balancing these contributions alongside academic commitments and part-time work, they have consistently demonstrated that influence comes not just from visibility, but from meaningful, intentional actions that create a lasting sense of community, inclusivity, and belonging.

They are an impressive and dedicated student leader who has consistently embodied the core values of the Students' Union, making a significant impact across multiple societies and initiatives. Over three years, they have served as a course and education representative, Student Ambassador, and Inclusion Officer for the Biomedical Sciences Society, contributed to the success of the Indian Society, actively engaged in SU events and leadership elections, chaired SU Voice meetings, and participated in Student Leader Conferences, demonstrating relentless commitment, effective communication, and a drive to create inclusive, supportive, and engaging environments for all students.

The Art Society has established itself as a highly inclusive, welcoming, and impactful student community, consistently providing a diverse range of creative activities that engage students across all backgrounds and skill levels. Through its well-planned sessions, collaborative projects with other societies, and involvement in events such as the CU Design Society end-of-year showcase, the society has created opportunities for members to express themselves, develop new skills, and build lasting friendships. Beyond fostering artistic growth, the society promotes student wellbeing, giving members a safe and supportive space to socialise, explore their creativity, and take ownership of their creative journeys. Its committee is recognised for being approachable, kind, and welcoming, ensuring no member is left behind and that everyone feels included. A key focus on sustainability, including the careful use of recycled and up-cycled materials, reflects the society's ethical approach and commitment to responsible practices. Overall, the Art Society has significantly strengthened campus cohesion, inspired confidence in its members, and demonstrated outstanding leadership, innovation, and impact, making it a highly deserving candidate for recognition this year.

The Automotive Society at Coventry University has delivered one of its most active, diverse, and impactful programmes to date, combining academic, professional, and social opportunities that support student growth and community connection. This year, the society organised trips, panel discussions, and networking events that allowed students to develop both professionally and socially, including sessions on women in the industry, CV building, and career development. Members gained access to industry leaders and exclusive visits, including Prodrive HQ, Tuthill Porsche workshop, Motorcycle Live, and F1 Arcade, providing first-hand insight into engineering, motorsport, and professional pathways.

The society prioritised inclusivity throughout its activities, ensuring all events were accessible to students, including those without transport, and offering lifts for off-campus trips. Social events ranged from movie nights and weekly Dub Club meets to large-scale road trips and collaborative karting events with other universities, creating opportunities for students to build friendships, cross-society networks, and a strong sense of belonging. Partnerships with organisations such as Caffeine & Machine, the Aerospace Society, and Women in STEM further enhanced engagement and promoted diversity within the automotive space.

Alongside academic and social development, the society actively encouraged participation and skill-building through member-led initiatives and creative projects, such as hoodies for members and collaborative promotional events. Their presence at Activities Fairs, featuring sports cars and superbikes, significantly increased visibility and membership, growing from 35 to 47 members this year, and earning the society recognition as September Society of the Month.

Through this balance of professional insight, inclusive social events, cross-disciplinary collaboration, and hands-on experiences, the Automotive Society has strengthened its identity, expanded opportunities for students, and created a vibrant, supportive community. Their work has made a meaningful and lasting difference to the student experience at Coventry University.

Avash has made an outstanding impact at Coventry University London through his dedication, leadership, and unwavering commitment to enhancing the student experience. As the sole SU Assistant at CULC, he consistently goes above and beyond, managing the campus independently while creating a welcoming, engaging, and inclusive environment for all students.

He has successfully planned and delivered major events, including Wellbeing Mondays, the Christmas and Halloween parties, the International Students Day Fair, and society fairs in collaboration with groups such as the International Human Rights Society, providing opportunities for students to connect socially and academically. Beyond events, Avash has championed student support by completing Advice Team training, guiding students through sensitive issues, advocating for clearer communication during enrolment, and raising concerns about campus facilities to ensure equity and improved student experiences.

In addition to his on-campus contributions, he works closely with the London SU team to strengthen the Students' Union presence, assisting with inductions, outreach, and engagement initiatives. He actively fosters feedback culture through the suggestion box initiative and consistently offers constructive ideas to improve student engagement. Known for his professionalism, positivity, and independence, Avash embodies SU values, acting as a trusted advocate, mentor, and point of contact for students navigating both academic and social aspects of campus life.

Through his leadership, advocacy, and commitment to inclusivity, Avash has made a lasting and meaningful difference at Coventry University London, ensuring students feel heard, supported, and connected.

As President, Calleigh has played a large role in developing the CU Design society since helping start it in her first year as Treasurer.

This year, Calleigh planned a range of design-related activities for the society's weekly sessions across semester 1 and 2 to help foster an inclusive environment for people who love design. This included coordinating with different university departments to borrow supplies, such as LEGO for a building session. She also secured Victoria Green as sponsor for a design challenge, providing members with professional bag samples to analyse and redesign. In addition, she reached out to the Crafting Society to collaborate together and host a zine-making session.

Beyond weekly sessions, Calleigh approached the university's metal workshop technician, Helen, to organise a metal phone holder design project. Supported by Helen, members were able to use professional equipment like sheet cutters, drills, hacksaws and the brazing hearth to construct their design from aluminium. Building on the good experience, Calleigh discussed access to facilities to make custom society merch. Participating members were asked to design a doodle that represents them which, along with the society's logo, will be printed onto tote bags using the university's sublimation printing machine. Members' contribution to the merch's design will cement their identity as part of the society and help them feel like they belong.

Calleigh has also utilised the society's logo in other ways such as by sourcing branded tablecloths and pencils for promotional events and using CAD software to design a custom pencil pot featuring the society logo, which she arranged to have 3D printed at the university to enhance event displays. She has also been promoting the society by managing their Instagram account and posting regular updates.

Additionally, Calleigh organised external trips: society members have been able to visit Coventry's Herbert Art Gallery, Birmingham's Museum & Art Gallery and have a trip to London's Design Museum scheduled too.

Lastly, Calleigh has been heavily involved with organising what will become the Design Society's most impactful event of the year. By collaborating with the Activities Officer, All Music Society and Art Society, she has been able to plan a Student Showcase for students to display their work at a social event with live music, snacks, crafts and games.

There is no doubt that this individual should be in the top 30. Not only do they carry themselves with integrity and respect for the role and their fellow students, but they have also achieved so much in their role despite undertaking an intensive, practical undergraduate degree.

They successfully organised and delivered a wellbeing event (yoga) for students within their School, which saw an excellent turnout and positive feedback. The impact of the event was clear, with students requesting that it be run again and fellow Student Leaders feeling inspired to deliver similar initiatives after seeing the difference it made. Their event created a supportive, relaxing space for students but also set a benchmark for peer-led engagement within the School.

Behind the scenes, they have worked tirelessly to ensure that student feedback is consistently heard and meaningfully considered across a wide range of student-led, union-led, and university-led meetings. By actively attending the majority of Student Voice Meetings in their area, they have developed a strong and nuanced understanding of the key issues affecting students. This insight has enabled them to confidently champion change at committee meetings and advocate effectively on behalf of their peers.

They have also demonstrated initiative in strengthening existing processes. After identifying gaps in how feedback was captured and acted on, they introduced a dedicated feedback form for EDI-focused questions within Student Voice Meetings, to be escalated to the EDI committee. Since its introduction midway through Semester 1, the form has generated over 50 EDI-related submissions, significantly improving the feedback loop and ensuring that important issues are formally recognised and addressed.

In addition to their representative work, they supported the Activities Department in securing over 300 responses to the School of Health and Care Societies Survey, further evidencing the breadth of their impact. Their commitment and collaborative approach have extended well beyond their immediate role, creating meaningful and lasting benefits for the wider student community.

Finally, they have been a pleasure to manage. It's not often you can say that a student leader can be trusted to work independently and proactively from the get-go. Not only have their events been impactful for students, but they have also been organised with minimal help or guidance from SU staff.

I am genuinely sad that this student leader is not a permanent colleague on our team, because their integrity and work ethic are qualities I envy. However, I am comforted to know that, in the profession they are entering, their behaviours and values will be valued tremendously and help many people. I feel incredibly proud of the work they have done and the way that they have represented students in their area, and wish them all the best in their (very) bright future.

The Crafting Society is a highly popular and inclusive student community, consistently attracting large weekly turnouts and creating a welcoming environment where students of all backgrounds and experience levels can learn new skills, de-stress, and connect with others. The society places a strong emphasis on accessibility, providing all materials, guidance, and encouragement to ensure everyone can participate confidently, while still offering opportunities for more experienced members to develop their abilities further. Through a wide range of collaborative events and partnerships with other societies, the Crafting Society has strengthened relationships across the university and built a supportive network that extends beyond weekly sessions. Members consistently report that the society has had a positive impact on their university experience, fostering friendships, improving wellbeing, and creating a sense of belonging. With a dedicated committee and a strong ethos of inclusivity, community, and creativity, the Crafting Society exemplifies the best of student engagement and continues to make a meaningful, lasting difference across campus.

This year, they have taken a thoughtful approach to supporting their members, particularly through organising a mock showcase event. As there is currently no trial showcase built into their course before the final assessed one, this gave students a really helpful opportunity to practise, receive feedback and feel more prepared. It is a simple idea, but one that makes a genuine difference to students working towards their degree.

They have also been inclusive in their planning for this event, inviting other creative societies, such as Art, to get involved. This allowed more students to benefit and helped strengthen the wider creative community on campus.

Alongside this, the Society runs a mix of academic events that support students on their course, as well as more social opportunities focused on networking and building a sense of community. They understand the importance of balancing academic growth with connection and belonging.

Overall, the Society has contributed positively to the student experience this year. Through practical support, collaboration and community building, they have reflected the Students' Union goals and made a meaningful difference to their members.

Destiny Omorogieva, a Master's student in Electrical and Electronics Engineering, is being nominated for the Students' Union Top 30 Most Influential in recognition of the exceptional impact he has made beyond his academic responsibilities. He consistently goes above and beyond to lead initiatives that strengthen community, improve communication, and create a more supportive and inclusive student experience across Coventry University.

As a Course Representative, Destiny has taken proactive ownership of student welfare and engagement within his cohort. He established and manages a dedicated WhatsApp community that serves as a central platform for students to raise concerns, share information, and collaboratively resolve academic and wellbeing challenges. This initiative has significantly enhanced communication between students and staff, enabled quicker resolution of issues, and fostered a culture in which students feel heard, supported, and connected rather than isolated.

Destiny also serves as a trusted Student Ambassador for Coventry University, representing the institution at events and supporting both prospective and current students. He regularly assists new students in settling into university life, offering guidance, reassurance, and practical advice during their transition into higher education. His photos and videos have been featured on the university's official social media platforms and displayed on campus billboards, including those in the George Eliot Building, reflecting the institution's confidence in him as a representative of its values and student community.

As an active member of the Coventry University Automotive Society, Destiny helps bridge the gap between academic theory and real-world engineering. By attending industry events, engaging with automotive and energy companies, and sharing opportunities and insights with peers, he extends valuable career knowledge to fellow students. He further amplifies this impact through his educational social media platforms under the name "destinedtoengineer," where he documents his engineering journey and offers practical advice on skills development and career pathways. Several of his videos have reached over 1,000 views, enabling him to inspire and support students both within Coventry and beyond.

Destiny is deeply committed to inclusion and belonging across the university community. As an international student, he actively mentors peers from multiple faculties, offering encouragement, guidance, and practical support. His approachable nature and genuine willingness to help foster an environment where students feel confident, valued, and empowered, regardless of their background or discipline.

What distinguishes Destiny is his initiative and service-driven mindset. Rather than waiting for change, he creates it by building communities, sharing knowledge, and opening doors for others. His leadership, visibility, and authentic commitment to supporting those around him embody the values of the Students' Union and have made a clear, meaningful, and lasting impact on the Coventry University experience. For these reasons, he truly deserves recognition as one of the Top 30 Most Influential students.

They currently serve as a School Representative for SOM (UG), where they have effectively addressed student feedback and problems related to facilities, academics, practical learning, registration, and overall student experience by collaborating closely with SU colleagues and university leadership. They have also organised an Airbus site tour for 20 students, delivered multiple placement talks to over 200 students to boost employability, participated as a panel member in the PTO accountability panel, and contributed to the Education Focus Group alongside university governors and leaders.

Dylan Miah has transformed the Automotive Society into a vibrant, inclusive, and highly active community over the past three years, turning what was once a largely inactive group into one of the most welcoming and engaging societies at the university. As president, he has personally organised over 40 events, including monthly car meets, road trips, movie and game nights, and exclusive tours of automotive companies such as Rennsport, Tuthill, Prodrive, and Morgan, providing members with unique experiences and opportunities they could not access elsewhere. He has also created systems, like sign-up forms for external events, to ensure everyone can participate regardless of car ownership, reinforcing the society's ethos of inclusivity.

Beyond event organisation, Dylan has fostered a supportive and welcoming environment where members regularly help each other, form lasting friendships, and develop a sense of belonging. He has revitalised the society's image through a redesigned logo, merchandise, and engaging exhibits at society fairs, which have boosted visibility and pride within the community. His dedication has strengthened student engagement, provided networking and professional development opportunities, and created memorable experiences, leaving a lasting and positive impact on both the society and the wider university community.

President of the Craft Beer Society from 2024–25, and again from 2025–26. Following most students graduating or exploring placement years, the membership rates of the Craft Beer Society fell from over 50 to as few as 4 in 2024–25. Despite this, during the time period of great hardship, Harrison presided over the Society to great effect. Memberships once again ballooned as a result of a First-Year & Inclusivity oriented organisational strategy.

Through collaboration with local businesses such as Twisted Barrel Brewery and Tap House, Triumph Brewhouse, & The Old Windmill, large financial contributions have been made to the local economy while supporting the growth in popularity & availability of Vegan & Gluten Free food and drink. Having experienced the lack of infrastructure for students with such food/drink requirements/preferences first hand in his first year of studies, Harrison utilised this newfound relationship with local businesses as a marketing opportunity for the Craft Beer society, attracting a wide demographic of eager students who previously felt they didn't belong at other social events. At the same time, he influenced and informed consumer behaviour among some of CU's most central venues.

Furthermore, through his period as president of the Craft Beer Society, Harrison made it a personal aim to improve the wellbeing and skills of each member who decided to attend events. Through educational Brewery tours many members, most of which were International and/or First-Year Students, many found a fascination with the booming Brewing industry and many have now gone on to specialise their area of study & career into Beer/Whisky Distilling.

Harrison also hosts Coventry University's Most listened to/tuned in to radio show in the entire student union. Phoenix Radio CU's very own "Bottom of the Barrel" podcast is presented and produced by Harrison Butterfield. This conquered a personal struggle, starting university with low self-esteem, his confidence grew over time into presenting the successful show which still airs to this day, alongside his position as president of a society. As of February 2026, Harrison's "BOTB" is the most listened to show on the entirety of the student union's radio, programming every Friday to a prime-time audience.

Through resilience, innovation, and inclusivity, Harrison has transformed challenge into opportunity, revitalising a struggling society, strengthening community partnerships, and creating welcoming spaces where students from all backgrounds feel valued and included. Additionally, Harrison consistently goes above and beyond.

In addition with being awarded "Winner" of 4005ICTE Infographic Exhibition award of 2024, Harrison Butterfield is a highly qualified candidate for Top 30 Most Influential Students on Campus.

I would like to nominate Jessica for her exceptional contribution to the Coventry University Midwifery Society. Although she joined the committee only recently, she has already made a significant and lasting impact on the success, stability, and inclusivity of our society.

From the moment she stepped into her role, she has consistently gone above and beyond what is expected. She has been a reliable, proactive, and supportive presence often stepping in to help with tasks outside her remit. Her willingness to assist, problem‑solve, and take initiative has been invaluable to both me as President and to the wider committee.

Despite being new to the team, she quickly developed a deep understanding of the society's aims and the needs of our members. She has contributed to event planning, communications, and student engagement, always with enthusiasm and a genuine desire to improve the student experience. Her positive attitude and strong work ethic have helped ensure that our events run smoothly and that students feel welcomed and supported.

She has always been on hand to bake cookies for our events, which have always been greatly appreciated.

What stands out most is her commitment to creating an inclusive environment. She treats every student with kindness and respect, and she actively works to ensure that all voices are heard. Her presence has strengthened the sense of community within the society, and she has become someone students naturally gravitate towards for help, reassurance, or encouragement.

Her impact in such a short time demonstrates exceptional leadership potential, dedication, and passion for supporting others. She is an asset to the society and a deserving nominee for this award.

Kishore has consistently gone above and beyond to support students, creating an inclusive, positive, and engaging environment across multiple areas of university life. As an SU Assistant, they have played a key role in setting up and running events, welcoming guests, managing stalls, and even responding to emergencies-earning recognition as a "helpful hero" for their professionalism and dedication. In their role as a course representative, Kishore has actively engaged with both students and lecturers to improve academic resources and the learning experience within their school.

Beyond these responsibilities, they have contributed significantly to student societies, serving on the Table Tennis Committee for two years to help make the club more diverse, inclusive, and engaging, and leading the Economics Society as President, introducing practical improvements such as installing essential software in study spaces and hosting inspiring guest lectures. Across all these roles, Kishore demonstrates exceptional commitment, reliability, and a proactive mindset, consistently ensuring that students feel supported, empowered, and connected to the university community. Their energy, approachability, and dedication make them a standout example of student leadership and a deserving nominee for recognition.

Alongside her society leadership, she has excelled as a Students' Union Assistant across Communications, Insights, Customer Support, Administration, and Events, consistently going above and beyond to support students, promote engagement, and uphold SU values. She is known for her professionalism, positivity, and creativity, from designing Welcome Desk boards to mentoring peers, supporting societies, and helping students navigate challenges, always with ethical leadership and inclusivity at the forefront. Her combination of energy, skill, and compassion has inspired students, strengthened communities, and made her a role model and standout contributor to the university experience.

The Maths Society has demonstrated exceptional leadership, energy, and commitment, transforming itself into a vibrant, inclusive, and welcoming community this year. After being re-adopted in October, the society quickly grew its membership and established itself as a hub for students across all mathematical backgrounds, showing that academic societies can be both fun and impactful. Through creative events like their highly successful Boozy Bingo, which fostered a strong sense of community and engagement, as well as collaborative activities with other societies, they have created inclusive spaces where students feel encouraged to participate and connect. Their study sessions and guidance toward the Sigma Centre further support academic development, while the all-female committee represents a positive example of leadership in a traditionally male-dominated subject. By combining academic support, social engagement, and inclusivity, the Maths Society has significantly enhanced the student experience, strengthened community, and embodied the core values of the Union.

Michal has consistently demonstrated exceptional commitment, professionalism, and enthusiasm in his role. His contributions to the Student Voice team have been invaluable, particularly through the high-quality minutes he produces during Student Voice meetings. His attention to detail and ability to accurately capture discussions sets a standard of excellence.

He collaborates brilliantly with the Communications team, regularly supporting them by taking fantastic photos that enhance our student-focused content. Michal approaches every task with a positive attitude and a genuine willingness to help, no matter how big or small the request.

Over the past year, he has built strong, productive relationships across core SU teams, becoming a trusted and reliable colleague. His support at the Student Leaders Conference was outstanding, ensuring the event ran smoothly and making a real difference behind the scenes.

Michal also played a key role in promoting Elections at the Welcome Desk, with his creative ideas and help in boosting student engagement.

Overall, Michal exemplifies the values of our Students' Union. His dedication, teamwork, and proactive approach make him truly deserving.

They are an outstanding academic society who consistently go above and beyond for their members. Every event they deliver is thoughtful, well organised and clearly planned well in advance. There is a real level of professionalism in everything they do, which reflects both their commitment to their course and their ethical approach as a society.

What makes them particularly strong is the balance they strike. They host academic growth events such as guest speakers and sessions that genuinely contribute to students' degrees. Many of these events provide certificates which students can use as part of their course requirements and professional development. This shows how dedicated they are to creating opportunities that have real academic value.

At the same time, they also organise social events, such as cocktail evenings, giving students space to relax, connect, and build friendships. This mix of academic and social opportunities strengthens their community and enhances the overall student experience.

His involvement spans multiple societies, including the Marketing Society, Table Tennis Society, Enterprise Society, Pakistan Society, and Economic Society. The Musical Theatre Society have put real, measurable effort into making Musical Theatre accessible to every student regardless of their background or prior experience with Musical Theatre. They have ran a variety of showcases throughout 2025 and 2026 that have helped those from a range of Musical Theatre backgrounds participate in professionally staged shows that they have made for public audiences - all of which have been extremely successful. A good example of this can be seen through the Musical Theatre Society's 'Night of Musical Theatre' showcase in January 2026 - which was a show built to make sure every society member who wanted to do something related to Musical Theatre could do so, and made £487 in revenue from the general public.

Musical Theatre as a hobby, and as an industry, can be nerve wrecking to get into. Hosting these shows, making them accessible to students at an affordable membership price, and putting such a large amount of effort into the projects they do makes them more than deserving of a spot in the top 30 this year. Their shows have served to help students gain real experience in a theatre setting, and their commitment to making sure that no student who wants in is left out is an example of how inclusive the society, and the initiatives it is ran, is overall.

The Paramedic Students’ Society has done an exceptional job creating an inclusive, fun environment for Paramedic Students to relax in, get to know one another, and build community.

The Society started in September 2025 by a joint committee of 1st and 2nd year students who wanted people on their courses to get to know one another and celebrate the intense world of Paramedic sciences. After affiliating, they went to work recruiting everyone who wanted to join the society through going into lectures, sending out mass-emails, and encouraging everyone to go to their events. They wanted to make sure that every Paramedic Sciences student could be involved in what they had planned throughout the year.

When hosting events, they have taken on board what their membership has asked of them to the extreme. Their membership asked for their first event to be a pub crawl, so they organised a pub crawl. Their membership wanted to go to a cadaver lab, so they organised a trip to a cadaver lab to help their members learn more about the human body, helping develop their knowledge and their skills. They listen extremely well to their society membership, which is a key reason for why they have the largest membership count through the entire School of Health and Care.

Their society has also shown what it means to students to have a truly values-driven community. When comparing the society from its performance this year against last year - they have made remarkable strides in ensuring students on the Paramedic Sciences course have something to be truly proud of. This pride, passion, and commitment is a key reason as to why they have been able to win Society of the month in January of 2026, where their membership nominated them for how friendly and engaging the society is overall.

They have a multitude of impactful projects in the works for the end of the year as well - such as the Paramedic Students’ ball - which is being designed as a prom-style event that will allow for Paramedic Students to get to know each other a little bit more. They are extremely deserving of being in the top 30 most influential students.

Pranav has consistently demonstrated exceptional dedication, professionalism, and impact as a Coventry University Students' Union Assistant over nearly two years, excelling across a wide range of roles including administration, Triage and Advocacy, Student Voice minute-taking, reception, and events. Whether bringing Felix the Phoenix to life as the mascot, supporting major events like Freshers Fairs and Varsity, mentoring new SU Assistants, leading Self-Defence sessions, or producing precise, high-quality minutes, Pranav approaches every task with energy, care, and attention to detail, ensuring students feel heard, supported, and valued.

His proactive attitude, reliability, and empathy have been repeatedly recognised by staff and students alike, with awards highlighting his outstanding performance, attentiveness, and ability to handle complex or sensitive situations. Pranav's sustained contribution has enhanced student experience, strengthened the SU community, and embodied the Union's values of inclusivity, integrity, and helpfulness, making him a standout candidate for SU Assistant of the Year and one of the Top 30 most influential students.

Rangeshh has consistently demonstrated exceptional dedication and leadership across Coventry University, making a meaningful impact on students and the wider campus community. As a Student Ambassador, he has welcomed prospective students, supported major events, and embodied the university's values with professionalism and enthusiasm, helping to build inclusive and engaging communities.

Alongside this, he has served as a Course Representative for Mechanical Engineering, ensuring student voices are heard and positive changes are implemented, while also playing key roles in societies such as the Manufacturing Society and the Mechanical Engineering Society as Vice President. Across academic, social, and sporting activities, Rangeshh has inspired, supported, and connected with students from all departments, balancing his responsibilities with charisma, reliability, and a genuine commitment to enhancing the student experience, making him a standout candidate for the Top 30 Most Influential Students.

Nominated for her recognition of the dedication and passion she has shown this year as President of the Coventry University Midwifery Society. She has put her whole heart into creating a community where midwifery students feel supported, included, and genuinely seen. From the outset, she was determined to rebuild a strong sense of belonging, and the progress made under her leadership has been remarkable.

One of her most significant achievements has been growing the society's membership. She was committed to making the society feel vibrant and engaging again - something students were genuinely excited to be part of. Through consistent communication, diverse events, and fostering a welcoming atmosphere, membership has increased significantly. It has been incredibly rewarding to see new students join, participate, and truly feel at home within the society.

She has also demonstrated exceptional leadership in planning the upcoming neurodiversity event. This has been one of the most complex challenges she has faced. The previous committee had confirmed dates and budgets without fully understanding the scale or associated costs and were not in a position to deliver the event. She stepped up to navigate difficult conversations with guest speakers, renegotiate costings, and make the responsible decision to move the date to ensure the event could be delivered properly and respectfully. Throughout, she has acted with honesty, resilience, and a genuine commitment to accessibility and inclusivity.

In addition, she has organised events supporting both the academic and emotional aspects of student midwifery, including inviting Leah Hazard to deliver a Student Survival and Careers Workshop. Balancing these responsibilities alongside raising a family, completing assignments, and attending clinical placements has required immense resilience and many late nights, yet she has remained committed because of her deep care for the student community.

She has worked tirelessly to create meaningful, positive change. Through her leadership, students feel more connected, supported, and inspired, and she has made a genuine and lasting difference to the student experience this year.

As Captain of the Coventry University Mountaineering Club, she has consistently worked to create a positive, inclusive, and supportive student experience. Her focus this year has been on building a community that welcomes students from all backgrounds, abilities, and levels of experience, ensuring everyone feels able to participate fully in climbing and mountaineering.

A key achievement has been strengthening inclusivity within what is traditionally a male-dominated environment. Through intentional encouragement, visible leadership, and active advocacy, she has fostered a culture in which women feel welcomed, confident, and empowered to take part. This has contributed to a 50% increase in female membership, alongside a notable improvement in first-year student retention. These outcomes reflect her values-driven leadership and commitment to meaningful community change. She has also completed "Adventure for All" training, expanding her understanding of accessibility in the outdoors and equipping her with the skills to make club activities more inclusive for students living with disabilities.

Another significant milestone has been organising and delivering Coventry University's first student-led international trip. This required extensive planning and close collaboration with the Students' Union and Sports staff. The trip was highly successful, setting a precedent and paving the way for future committees to organise similar opportunities, enabling more students to create lasting memories and broaden their experiences. In addition, she has led numerous trips across the UK, giving members opportunities to challenge themselves, develop outdoor skills, and connect with nature. For many international students, these trips have provided a supported and enriching way to explore beyond Coventry and experience more of the UK.

Beyond management and organisation, she has been a consistent source of emotional support, generously offering her time to walk, talk, share brunch, or simply listen. Her reliability and approachability have strengthened members' sense of belonging and personal growth. Community-building has been central to her leadership, extending beyond training sessions and trips. She has organised a variety of social activities, including scavenger hunts, quizzes, Taskmaster-style challenges, and relaxed park meetups. These initiatives have deepened friendships, built trust, and ensured members feel part of something meaningful - not just a sports club, but a community. For many international students, the club has become a home away from home.
