About the event

Carbon Literacy helps you understand the climate crisis and what you can practically do about it in your everyday life, studies and future career. It’s designed for anyone – no science background needed, just curiosity and a willingness to get involved. There are three sessions which you must attend and engage with:

  • Session One: Friday 20 February 10am-12pm
  • Session Two: Self directed learning which must be completed before session three
  • Session Three: Friday 27 February 10am-12pm

Across the three sessions, you’ll explore what climate change is, how it affects people and places and why your choices and voice matter. You’ll work in small groups on real‑life scenarios, discover the impact of different lifestyle and workplace decisions, and share ideas for action that actually feel achievable.

By the end, you’ll create your own personal and group action plan – clear steps you can take to reduce your carbon footprint and influence change in your community or organisation. Submit your pledges to receive a globally recognised Carbon Literacy certification, which you can add to your CV, LinkedIn and future job or placement applications as evidence of your climate awareness and commitment to climate change.
