About the event

Your last opportunity to join BSL Club this block, and be able to catch-up!

Our informal, supportive four-week course for anyone who wants to learn or practise British Sign Language in a relaxed setting.

Each week covers different themes (e.g. greetings, hobbies, everyday life) through games, group activities and short signed conversations. It’s a great way to build confidence, meet like‑minded students and keep practising between formal courses.

By attending, you’ll not only gain the ability to communicate with members of the Deaf community, but also the following skills, behaviour and knowledge for your future career:

  • Skills: Progressive BSL vocabulary across themed topics; conversational signing in small groups; fingerspelling and number practice.
  • Knowledge: Reinforcement of BSL structure and grammar; exposure to Deaf culture through informal discussion and activities.
  • Behaviours: Regular practice habit; increased confidence using BSL socially; openness to inclusive communication and peer learning.

Suitable for complete beginners and those with some prior BSL experience.

Location: Armstrong Siddeley building room 213 (second floor)
