AMS is a place for everyone who loves music! We meet up for our own open mic nights and jam sessions, as well as attending other events around Coventry, including karaoke and many more!

Whether you're just getting in to music or are a seasoned veteran, you'll find a massive range of people just like you. Many of us are more than willing to lend a hand if you need one, or collaborate on a project you've been working on, or even just join a song you want to perform.

Current Events

Make sure to check out our weekly meetings, 8-10pm in Rosie's Malone for the classic AMS open mic night. This is a great place to meet our members and perform any music you like, or even just to watch other people perform.

We also host many other one-off events, collaborating with several other societies including Christian Union and several of the Music and Performance societies. We've also held events with Phoenix Radio, the SU and many other external partners around coventry. We're always up for new collaborations, so feel free to reach out if you want to collaborate with us on any kind of event. If you need music for your event, we are the people you need.

Key past events

We're really proud to support a range of CUSU communities, including LGBT+, BAME and Student Media, and the wider Coventry & West Midlands. We're also part of The Gaming Collective, which is a group of societies puts on Gaming & Karaoke nights for charity at Square One in the Hub - to date we've helped raise over £1000 for a variety of charities!

AMS Online

Our online community is as big as the one we have in person, where we share musical performances, collaborate with each other and stay connected. We share highlights of all our events on our Instagram, and now have a Discord server too, the main place for our members to communicate.

We have a very rich and diverse society, and we'd love for you to be a part of it. Don't hesitate to reach out if you have any questions.

President - Eric Mok

Hello beautiful people,

I’m Eric, a final year international student from Hong Kong and yes, the one who always wears a beanie.

I’m your AMS President this year, and I’m really excited to be here and hopefully get to know all of you throughout the year.

I mainly play drums, but recently I’ve been playing guitar a lot more as well. I love shoegaze, indie, Britpop and funk, and I have a very unhealthy love for Oasis and The Stone Roses. I’m also a big fan of My Bloody Valentine, Slowdive and The Cure, among many others.

I’ve been part of AMS since first year, and it’s been a huge part of my university experience. I’ve met so many amazing people, played some great music and had a lot of fun along the way.

We’ve got some exciting plans for AMS this year, and I really hope to see as many of you as possible at our events. No matter what genre or level you’re into, as long as you like music, you’re more than welcome to come along and get involved!

Really looking forward to another great year with you all!

EM x

Inclusions Officer - Dylan Goodwin

Hey, I’m Dylan, and I’m happy to be your inclusion officer for AMS this year!

You’ll probably see me playing guitar the most, or lugging around my huge amp, but I also love to play bass, and may dabble In drums too. My music taste changes all the time but some of my favourites are The Beatles, Geese/Cameron Winter, twenty one pilots, queens of the Stone Age, all sorts.

As the inclusion officer, my role is to make sure everyone feels comfortable in the society, whether you are a new or returning member, so you can come to me to talk about anything and everything, ams should be a comfortable space for all!

AMS is a great place not just to play music but to make friends, and I hope to see you there.

Treasurer - Nina Andrijic

Hi, I’m Nina, and I’m a final-year student from Croatia. I mainly play bass, and I’m thrilled to be your AMS Treasurer for yet another year.

My favourite music to listen to and play is funk, rock, and blues. Recently, I’ve been very into Dire Straits, Gil Scott-Heron, Stevie Wonder, and Funkadelic.

As this will be my third year in the society, I’m extremely grateful to be a part of this community, and I look forward to new events and socials! C:
