Competitions:
NRC - The National Rocketry Championship is a beginner friendly competition aimed for 1st and 2nd years. The goal is to send a custom payload and a provided camera to 2200ft/670m as accurately as possible and recover safely. It’s a great way to get introduced to rocketry.
Mach X - Mach X is an intermediate competition and the UK’s largest of its kind. It is aimed for 2nd and 3rd years, with limited spaces for masters students. There are three categories, with all of them sending a CanSat payload up to a target altitude between 450m and 3km, depending on the category.
UAS Challenge - Unmanned Aerial System Challenge is a UK based advanced international competition aimed mainly for 2nd/3rd/Masters years. The challenge is to build an autonomous aircraft, hence the name, with a maximum take off mass of 10kg whilst navigating waypoints, simulating an aid mission and returning back to base at the end of it all. The design doesn’t have to be a fixed wing, it could be a quad-copter or tilt-rotor or anything else you can think that could work.
