Don’t Duck Out of Democracy: Why Your Vote Matters

Your Students’ Union exists to represent you, but it only works if students step forward to take part. Right now, the first step is to register your interest in running for a role. This is your chance to make a real difference at Coventry University.

Your Students’ Union exists to represent you, but it only works if students step forward to take part. Right now, the first step is to register your interest in running for a role. This is your chance to make a real difference at Coventry University.

Whether you’re passionate about education, wellbeing, societies, sports, or student activities, there’s a role for you. Full-time officers dedicate a year to representing the whole student body, leading campaigns, and shaping policy. Part-time officers balance their studies with representing their campus, school, or student group, running projects, supporting events, and giving students a voice in the SU.

Running isn’t just about a title — it’s about making change happen. By putting yourself forward, you can:

  • Represent your peers and champion their concerns
  • Lead campaigns and projects that improve student life
  • Gain experience in leadership, project management, and advocacy

Even if you’re still studying, part-time roles let you contribute without taking a year out, while full-time roles give you the chance to dedicate a full year to leading SU initiatives.

Don’t duck out of democracy — take the first step and register your interest today: yoursu.org/elections/education
