CU Coventry Campus Officer

Hello everyone! I am Munirah Adeshina-Rasaq (she,her,hers), your new Campus Officer, I am in my final year studying accounting here at CU Coventry. My aim is to make CU Coventry a safe space for everyone, I want a campus every student will be excited to grow and learn in different ways.

Here are 3 key points from my manifesto that I will be working on:

Wellness events
Try to come up with creative ideas to help improve student wellness. Wellness events address a broad spectrum of student needs, from mental health education and stress management to physical fitness and emotional support. I want to create a campus culture where students are encouraged to prioritize their well-being, this will improve academic performance, form better social connections and will give students a healthier and more balanced experience.
Career and Finance Enlightenment
This is a crucial aspect in the life of a student, it can be quite hard for some students to navigate through this if they have not got any form of financial independence before. I want to make students more aware of financial and professional goal setting so students can feel more confident for post-graduation life.
Support
My aim is to try to introduce new systems to provide additional support to students here. For example: Creating a buddy system where students can seek support from other students across different courses if they do not feel comfortable going to teachers. Peer mentorship programs are a good way to get students to be more involved and it is very helpful.
