Venues and Outlets

We run a range of entertainment and sporting venues in and around campus, as well as several outlets that offer high-quality, affordable food and drink to students and staff. All profits made across our venues and outlets are reinvested to support the student experience.

LEAF

Location: Library

Opening Hours: 8am-4pm

One of our favourite spaces on campus to socialise or quietly study is LEAF at the Library. Take a seat and order via QR code to your table, or head to the counter to chat with our friendly team where you can build your own baguette or get a pizza freshly cooked to order. If you’re after something quicker, we have a great selection of sandwiches, pastries, snacks and drinks in the fridges, as well as sweet treats on the counter.

We also host a community book swap in the space, so you can grab a book or leave a book on the bookshelf at the entrance.

BOOST Cafe

Location: Alison Gingell Building

Opening Hours: 8am-3:30pm

Perfectly located for gymgoers and healthcare students, BOOST offers a range of hot and cold food, drinks, pastries and snacks. If you need to grab a quick meal deal on the go, a protein shake after your workout, or a freshly cooked pizza for lunch, we’ve got you covered.

Square One

Location: The Hub

Opening Hours: Bar open daily from 10am - 2pm, with additional opening hours depending on events and activities taking place in the venue.

Square One is a flexible bar and entertainment venue designed for students to create, host and enjoy a wide range of events. Whether you're part of a society, sports club, student group, or simply looking to bring people together, Square One provides the perfect space to make it happen.

Our bar offers a great selection of hot and cold drinks, soft drinks, and alcohol, alongside an extensive range of low and no-alcohol options, ensuring there's something for everyone.

The Place Clubhouse Bar

Location: The Place, Westwood Heath (off campus)

Opening Hours: Open for all BUCS fixtures, with additional opening hours varying depending on bookings and events.

Located at the heart of our outdoor sports facilities, The Place Clubhouse Bar is the perfect spot to relax, refuel and socialise. Whether you're grabbing a refreshment before training, celebrating after a match, or supporting our sports clubs during their BUCS fixtures, the Clubhouse offers a welcoming space for students, staff and visitors alike.

The bar offers hot and cold drinks, soft drinks and sports drinks, as well as alcohol, and low and no-alcohol alternatives.

How our outlets support students

We’re a student-led organisation that puts students at the heart of our decision making. Feedback from our reps and student surveys told us that more affordable and healthy options were needed on campus so, when we launched our own outlets, we aimed to keep our prices low and choice wide!

All profits we make are reinvested into services, activities and opportunities that enhance our student’s university experience. Where possible, our outlets are staffed by students, providing them with part-time work too!

Our commitment to sustainability

Sustainability is a core part of our operations across all outlets. We believe high-quality food and drink shouldn’t cost the Earth, so we put the planet before profit. We only use responsibly sourced ingredients, and we use compostable and recyclable packaging where possible to minimise our environmental impact.
