About the event

We welcome students, staff and members of the local community to join us as Coventry Students' Union and Coventry University host a joint screening of the National Emergency Briefing (People's Emergency Briefing).

What is the National Emergency Briefing?
The briefing is a short, 50-minute long film setting out the implications of climate and nature breakdown on health, food systems, national security and the economy.

The briefing initially started in November 2025, when ten of the UK's leading experts briefed an invited audience of over 1,200 politicians and leaders from business, culture, faith, sport and the media.

The briefing has now been released for organisations to host screenings within workplaces, cinemas and local communities to help individuals understand the crisis, and what they can do to take action and support necessary change.

Why should I attend?
The briefing shares an important insight into what is happening with the climate, and how it is affecting nature, as well as all aspects of UK life. The film also provides tangible actions that you can do to help support action in this space.

Who can attend?
The briefing is open to all staff and students at Coventry University, as well as wider members of the public and community. Please note- the film has been rated as 16 + , so individuals attending will need to be over 16 (ID may be required upon entry).

Where is this taking place, and how can I sign up?
Our screening will be taking place on Wednesday 11th November, at 12.30pm in Square One (The Hub, Jordan Well, CV1 5QT).

Attendance is free and we want to encourage as many people to watch as possible.

We do ask that attendees register for a free ticket for this event, to ensure we can track capacity in our venue.
