About the event

Coventry University and Coventry University Students’ Union invite students, staff and members of the local community to a joint screening of The People’s Emergency Briefing: a powerful, evidence-led 50-minute film about the climate and nature crisis in the UK.

The screening is an opportunity to hear from leading UK experts, understand why climate and nature matter to every part of life, and explore the positive, practical action that can still make a difference.

What is The People’s Emergency Briefing?

The People’s Emergency Briefing is a 50-minute documentary based on the National Emergency Briefing, held in Westminster in November 2025. At the original event, leading experts briefed more than 1,200 invited figures from politics, business, culture, faith, sport and the media on the consequences of climate and nature breakdown.

The film explores the implications for:

Health and wellbeing
Food systems and food security
The economy and jobs
National security
Nature, communities and future generations

It is honest about the scale of the challenge, but it also looks at the solutions and the action needed from government, organisations and communities.
