Academic Funding Scheme

We want to support our academic societies to facilitate the academic experiences they plan and offer an Academic funding scheme to support you achieving your goals. As you carry out events and initiatives that benefit all students you can win additional funds for your society. When you’ve achieved one of these initiatives, please submit your evidence using the button below.

What values can you get?

Event or Initiative Fund reward
Host a guest speaker £30
Host a skill development event (e.g. study session or practical) £30
Take over a course hour for one of your events £50
Collaborate with an associated student representative (Course rep, School Rep, Part-time Officer) £30
Publish about your society at least 3 times on AULA £10
Elect all 3 mandatory roles into your society for the following year £25
Endorse a candidate in your college or location’s SU Leadership elections (SU staff to verify eligibility beforehand) £20
Grow your society and elect someone into the role of “first year rep” position on your committee £20
Host at least one “Give it a go” event open to any course students £20
Achieve at least 50% of your members being from a related courses SU staff to verify. £15

What other support or funding can you get?

All academic societies can apply as normal for the Society development grant alongside the Academic funding scheme also, further details of the development grant can be found in the finances section of the committee hub.

We understand in some instance you may want to purchase equipment or resources for your society that may not have the budget, Please enquire with us on Teams or at societies.su@coventry.ac.uk to se if we can support you or purchase resources that could be shared across multiple societies. We’ve already done this for things like Games consoles, Musical Instruments, Stationery etc
