Societies
Societies are student-led groups covering lots of areas, including academics, hobbies and culture.
By joining, you'll meet people who share the same interest/hobby as you, make new memories and have lots of fun along the way.
Societies are available to students across Coventry and London. Former students and members of the public can join as associate members.
You can also start your own by adopting or starting a society in Coventry or London.
You'll need to pay a one-off annual membership fee to join a society.
However, if you are a first-year student, you can join your academic society for free.
There are lots of benefits to joining a society, including...
- Learning new skills
- Building your network
- Gaining additional academic learning opportunities
- Leadership skills from joining a society committee
- Having fun
- Taking part in activities you wouldn't normally
- Discovering new locations
- And more!

What do society members have to say:
"No matter who you are, someone else enjoys the society activity you’re doing too, and you’ll have someone who can support and encourage you."
– Rock Music Society member
"I joined the society to be part of a community, somewhere that was accepting and welcoming to everyone with no pre-judgement. It is so nice to be a part of something where you know that you will be accepted for who you are, no matter what, and you can truly be yourself."
– LGBTQIA+ Society Member
"I was eager to meet new people and widen my network and as an international student, I always want to connect with diverse groups. Society was a place where I could meet new people and have a calm distraction from my coursework."
– Art Society Member
