So, you’re joining CU Scarborough this September? Or perhaps you’re headed back for another block of study? Whether you’re brand-new or an old hand, we’ve got a whole range of events and activities to help you settle in, make friends, and get involved!
For most students, teaching begins on Monday 11th September. But if you’re joining us on an Access to HE course your teaching starts a week earlier, on Tuesday 5th September. New students might be encouraged to come to campus this week to get your enrolment sorted so you can hit the ground running when your teaching start. To help with this, we’re starting Welcome activities in “Week 0”! They’ll be running all the way through to the end of the month, so be sure to get involved.

Meet Your SU
Every weekday, Tuesday 5th – Friday 15th September
These interactive stalls are designed to introduce you to Your Students’ Union. We’re an independent charity dedicated to improving the student experience for all students at the Coventry University Group. Each day you’ll be able to find out about a different aspect of what we do, including Your Advice Service, Student Voice, and Student Activities. We’ll be offering information, support, and freebies!
CommuniTeas/Brew Monday
Tuesday 5th and Monday 11th September
Our popular free hot drinks event! We try to run these at least once a block. Pop by the stall to say hi and grab a free tea, coffee, or hot chocolate.
Scavenger Hunt
Tuesday 5th and Monday 11th September
To help you get to know the building we’re running a scavenger hunt on the 5th and 11th September. Pick up a sheet and head around the building to answer the questions. Complete the sheet correctly to get a prize!
Get It Sorted – Your Advice Service Drop-In
Twice weekly, weeks 0 & 1
These sessions are run by our friendly and experienced Student Advice Caseworker Sarah. Your Advice Service is a free, independent and confidential service for all students run by Your Students' Union. If you’ve got a question or have run into an issue since starting university, visit one of Sarah’s drop-ins on the ground floor and she’ll help you get it sorted.

Unlock what Scarborough has to offer from the comfort of campus! Tour stalls hosted by businesses, charities, and organisations from in and around Scarborough to find out more about what the town and local area has to offer you as a student. Plus be on the lookout for freebies! More info here.
International Students
Moving to England from overseas is a massive change and we want to do our best to support international students during this time. We’re running two events just for international students, to give you the chance to meet other students from overseas and the staff members at CU Scarborough who are here to support you.
