So, if you are looking for some places within Coventry, we have a plenty of options. For both history enthusiasts and nature lovers, War Memorial Park is a good option. Originally established in 1920’s as a tribute to those who lost their life in World War One, the park's open spaces are perfect for picnics, outdoor games, and relaxation, providing a break from the academic routine. You might be thinking 'what if I am a sporty person?' Don’t worry! The park offers sports courts, a skatepark, a playground and more. There truly is something for everyone! 

If you are person who loves shopping, you can dive into a diverse range of shopping options, picking up distinctive fashion items, handcrafted jewellery, and quirky home décor from Fargo Village. Herbert museum is another personal favourite. Immerse yourself into the artistic excellence of master pieces and their galleries, or visit them when they hosts events, workshops, and talks that encourage dialogue, creativity, and a sense of unity!

Stratford Upon Avon  

If you're someone who loves dreaming and reading, why not consider checking out Stratford Upon Avon? It's just about an hour away by bus from Pool Meadow, and the fare is around £2 for a one-way trip or £4 for a round trip. The journey itself offers some lovely scenic views, and the destination is even better, with charming stone houses and vibrant blossoms all over the place. You can explore the street where the incredibly famous writer and poet, William Shakespeare, was born. This could be a cool idea for a Sunday outing during the spring and summer seasons.

Warwick Castle

Warwick is one of the best spots if you would love to explore the medieval halls and secret chambers, all whilst being mindful about your budgets as well. Don’t forget to opt for student discount online tickets (don't forget your student ID card) to claim your reduced entry price! You can also use student discount in many local eateries and shops. You can also keep an eye out for online exclusive offers and bundle packages. This will cover the entry to the castle with other nearby attractions and make it more affordable. Don't forget to grab your favourite snacks and refreshments to enjoy the beauty of nature where history comes to life amidst the grand architecture.

Birmingham

Birmingham is England's second-largest city, which lies just a short 20-minute train journey away from Coventry. It is a hub of diverse attractions. Here are just a few attractions that the city offers.  

In the heart of the city lies Digbeth, home to the historic Old Crown, Birmingham's oldest pub, which adds a touch of charm to the urban landscape. Digbeth, known for its arts-based community and vibrant nightlife, is a must-visit spot for those seeking unique and lively experiences in the heart of Birmingham. Another great area to have fun is the Gay Village in Birmingham. It is a great area, not just for the LGBTQIA+ community, but for everyone. During the May bank holiday, they hold a festival, which is something you do not want to miss. If you enjoy a bit more of a historical day trip, the Birmingham Museum & Art Gallery or Aston Hall are also great destinations for a day trip. Their picturesque architecture also serves as a great spot for that aesthetic Instagram post. When it comes to Christmas time, you must visit Birmingham’s Frankfurt Christmas Market. This is the perfect place to be to get you into the Christmas spirit! For those of you who have a sweet tooth and love some chocolate, you can find Cadbury World, where you can get some of UK’s finest chocolate.

With Birmingham being the second-largest city in the UK, there are so many different fun things you can do, and with it being only a 20-minute train journey away, you are guaranteed to always have something fun to do during the weekends.
