We want to know from our students what ideas you have for change. Whether it’s something relating to the SU or the university, you can submit an idea to us which will be considered by the student body and potentially the Officer team. For an idea to be considered it needs to fall under one of the following criteria:

  • To improve the delivery of one the SU’s services. Examples could be more face-to-face appointments for a particular service or a needed feedback mechanism you’d like us to explore
  • Something you’d like our Officers to work with the university on to improve the student experience. Examples of ideas in this area could be a dedicated social space or outside seating.
  • Topics you’d like the SU to make a stand on you can submit an idea to be considered by the student body and Officer Team. Examples could be something happening in world news that you think the SU should have a public position on.

How can I get involved?

As a student you’ll be able to like any of the ideas below that you think the SU Officers should consider. If you have an idea for change that you would like Officers to consider submit an idea below and we'll be in touch with the next steps

    Make officers accountability more effective

    Current
As officers are elected directly by students, the Accountability Panel should include ordinary students and Course Representatives, not just PTOs. A panel of only five people is not enough to represent the views and questions of such a large and diverse student population. Including a wider range of students would make the process more representative, democratic, and reflective of the students who elected the officers. Also create an open application process for students who wish to participate in Accountability Panels. Ensure panel membership includes representatives from different campuses, colleges, and student groups.
