Square One is a versatile events space and bar run by Your Students' Union, located right in the heart of campus. We host a variety of events in the space, including movie nights, but we also work with student groups to provide free venue hire, giving you a space on campus to build your community, try something new and put your ideas into action. 

How can Square One work for you?

Whether you’re part of a society, sports club, student group or simply want to bring people together, Square One gives you a space to put on the events you want. From society socials and sports club events to live performances, parties, fundraisers, showcases and ticketed events, the Square One team are here to help you make it happen. And there’s more! When a society or sports club runs an event at Square One, they earn money back from bar sales, helping to raise funds for the group while giving members a great place to get together.

If you're an official SU society or sports club and would like to host an event in Square One, speak to your coordinator first. They can chat through your event with you and secure a booking before approaching the Square One team directly. They can also help you understand how your event can make use of the benefits available, including free venue hire, technical support and the 10% bar revenue kickback.
