Your Students’ Union is re-launching a Gender Expression Fund from September 2024 to support queer students to access gender-affirming services and items throughout the 2024/25 academic year.
What does the Gender Expression Fund cover?
This can be used to purchase gender affirming products that could include (but is not limited to) new clothes/underwear, chest binders, breast forms, packers, wigs, affirming sports/swimwear, makeup/nail polish, pride merchandise, and books.
Your Student’s Union has a collection of free pronoun badges with she/her/hers, he/him/his, they/them/theirs, and a blank option to write your own that can be ordered from the SU website soon, so this is not included in the Gender Expression Fund.
Who is eligible for the Gender Expression Fund?

Be a current enrolled as a student in the Coventry University Group (this includes Coventry University, Coventry University London, CU Coventry, CU Scarborough, CU Dagenham, and CU Greenwich).

Identify as trans, non-binary, intersex, gender diverse, genderqueer, or gender non-conforming.
How much does the Gender Expression Fund cover?
Applicants will be allocated up to £40 (the total monetary value must include shipping, import costs, and VAT*).
- *If the monetary value is above £40, a gift card of £40 will be issued and the student will be expected to cover the rest of the cost.
Students who are applying for the first time will be prioritised for funding, but previous applicants can also apply for the fund.
How to apply:
- To apply, simply fill out the form. Please make sure to follow the guidelines and read the information provided in the form.
- A committee will meet every 2 months to discuss and approve applications, after this you will be contacted on the outcome of your application and told what the next steps are.
