About the event

Join us to improve your understanding and professional ability to communicate online. We will learn about digital tone, audience awareness, and how to adapt messages to different online platforms.

Interactive scenarios will help you identify what makes communication engaging, inclusive, and purposeful while avoiding common pitfalls like misinterpretation and information overload.

By attending, you’ll gain the following skills, knowledge and behaviours for your future career:

Skills:

  • Clear, concise written and verbal online communication
  • Effective use of video, chat and email
  • Adapting tone and style for different audiences and platforms.

Knowledge:

  • Online communication etiquette;
  • Accessibility considerations (e.g. captions, clear language)
  • Professional digital presence.

Behaviours:

  • More thoughtful, inclusive online interactions
  • Proactive checking of clarity and tone
  • Confident participation in virtual meetings and collaborative work.

This is not a workshop where you just come and absorb information, instead, you need to get involved in discussions, share your opinions and make suggestions to improve the relationships in real-world situations, so a device with a working microphone is essential.
