Take a deeper look at two more departments of Your SU and how they can support you.

Your Students’ Union Advice Service is a free, independent and confidential service for all students. Our support is one tap away – contact Your Advice Service.

A Pod which often holds meetings with students who consult the Advice Service

You can reach out to Your SU Advice Service for issues around studies, your accommodation and more.

Academic Advice: Whether you need support with an Academic Appeal, Academic Misconduct, understanding your Results, and anything else relating to your academic career, we can support you through these processes.  

Finance: Not sure how to manage your money, check what you’re entitled to, or want to know more about funding? You can reach out with any query. If you find yourself in financial hardship get in touch with us, and we can provide support and guidance to support you with your basic needs. 

Housing: Finding the right accommodation is not always easy. That is why we are committed to supporting students to make finding their accommodation that much easier.

International Students: We understand how overwhelming it can be to be a new student in a foreign country. This is why we try to offer as much support and understanding as possible on matters around your new student status, including signposting to relevant university and national departments. 

Wellbeing Support:

You can reach out to Your SU Wellbeing team for various reasons, such as:

Period Products: We offer a variety of free period products, along with information about correct use, awareness, and understanding your periods.

Pregnancy and Birth: We offer free pregnancy tests, guidance around understanding your pregnancy, as well as signposting for relevant NHS support. We can also support you with understanding what pregnancy would mean to you as a student.

Physical Wellbeing: Good physical wellbeing can also help boost quality of sleep, general mood, energy, and self-esteem.

Safety: We provide tips and guidance for staying safe whilst socialising, being on nights out and how to make the most of a safer campus. 

Sexual Health and Consent: We provide information and guidance on managing and protecting your sexual health, including understanding the different ways to experience and enjoy sex, information about and support for treating STIs and understanding the different types of contraception to enjoy sex safely.

Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH): Good mental wellbeing is all about recognising when times are tough and having the resilience, coping strategies and support network in place to help deal with the ups and downs of life. We can provide support in understanding the links between social, emotional and mental health, why they are important and how you can look after them.
