Your SU Research Engagement Coordinator
I'm Josh Toplis and I will be your Research Engagement Coordinator, here at the Students' Union. I am here to support and develop the Reps throughout their journey in the role. I previously supported Course Reps last year, as well as being elected as a Rep during my own time at University. I love seeing Reps develop their centres for the better and create long-lasting change for years to come.
Outside of work I am massively into all things, TV and Movie related (especially Star Wars), as well as Rugby Union.
You can contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org or come into the Hub in 1.25.
Your Postgraduate Research Officer
Kirsty Harrod is the Postgraduate Research Officer.
What is a Research Rep?
A Research Rep is someone who represents the views of their peers from their Research Centres. But why should you be one? Being a Rep can be a highly rewarding experience during your PGR journey, you can bring about positive change to your Research centre, build on the existing employability skills you'll be gaining and truly shape the student experience for PGRs and so much more!
We don't limit the number of people who can apply; therefore, you will automatically be accepted for the role. We will contact you over the coming days to complete training for the role. Please note that you will not be confirmed as a Research Rep until your training has been completed. To apply simply click the button below
Don't just listen to us, here is Kirsty Harrod, your PGR Officer, with why you should apply to be a Research Rep
'Being a PGR rep allows you to make real changes in the University. The role is easy - you just chat with other PGRs in your research centre and bring their ideas, issues, and feedback to quarterly meetings with other reps and the most influential people in the University. By coming together to tackle issues, we can make PGR's life better for everyone. Sign up below or email your PGR Officer at email@example.com if you have any questions.'
You can also check out the Rep live list button below to see who your current Rep is within your centre. If you see a vacancy in your centre, why not apply.
