Job Title: Students' Union Assistant
Rate of pay: £11.44 per hour plus holiday pay

Location: Coventry
This role sits alongside your studies

About the role

Students' Union Assistants are responsible for providing student-focused services to our members and wider stakeholders. These roles are central to the day-to-day operations of the Students' Union and its activities and interactions with members. The role is broken down into a number of zones that cover the different types of duties a Students' Union Assistant can be expected to do including:

  • Events and Promotion: successful applicants placed in this zone would work and lead on the delivery of events and promotional activities.
  • Customer Service and Admin: successful applicants placed in this zone would complete administrative tasks, work on the Students' Unions Welcome Desks and be the first point of contact for enquiries.
  • Triage: successful applicants placed in this zone would work closely with the Advice Service to deliver activities, campaigns and work on the Welcome Desks as the first point of contact into the service. 
  • Communications and Insights: successful applicants placed in this zone would work closelty with the Marketing and Communications team to produce engaging content from videography and photography to insights. 

Applicants are placed into zones based on their preference, indicated in the application, and their completion of relevant tasks prior to, and during, the assessment centre.

Applications will close on Sunday, 28 April 2024 at midnight

Following a review of applications the shortlisting panel will shortlist week commencing 29 April and will invite shortlisted applicants to sign up to an assessment centre on 2 May. This invite shall include a link to book onto an assessment centre time slot.

Applicants may be asked to complete a pre assessment centre task dependent on which zones they indicate they would like to work in. These tasks are designed to test your ability to work on those zones and will determine whether you are placed in those zones.

Assessment Centres will take place week commencing 6 May. These will include an individual interview and 2 group tasks that have been designed to support determining which zones you are placed into.

Successful applicants will be informed week commencing 13 May. This information shall include next steps for onboarding, training and starting work.
