As you might have seen on the university's social media, the committee elections are coming up. This means that we're in for a lot of competition over the next month!

The four main roles that are open for nominations are:

• Club Captain - Club culture, Ethos and philosophy, Press releases, Equal contributor, Sponsorship
• Club Admin - Club finances, Administration of club activities, Fundraising and sponsorship, Club support
• Wellbeing Officer - Club support, Mental health and wellbeing initiatives, Equity and diversity, Health and safety within the club
• Communications Officer - Control of social media, Communications with club, Promotions and sponsorship

The two other roles for our society are:

• Trip Secretary - Look out for potential trips, Help and organise trips, Communication with organisations
• Social Secretary - Planning of socials (themes, where it takes place), Announcing socials, Organising extra activities for socials like pub crawls and pub golf

Each of these positions are very individually important in the running of the society. However, everyone works together. This means you will always have help, and will be supported by the other committee members (It's like a little family! ❤️) . The process of applying for committee roles is super easy: you can either click the link at the bottom of this email (to take you directly to the nominations page), or you can go via the 'YourSu' website. To do this, go to the nominations that are under the 'Your Officers' tab. You can then select the 'All Current Elections' button at the bottom of the page, and then find the 'Sport Committee Elections' option. From there you can nominate yourself for the position of your choosing. Additionally, you can read a bit more about the other positions that are available.

Anyone can nominate themselves for the roles! Becoming a committee member for a society you love is super rewarding, and helps to develop many skills that you can use in job interviews and application, or in other areas of your life. These skills include problem solving and communication among many others. You will get to work in a great team in a rewarding leadership position. As the timeline of these elections is very important, please make sure to nominate yourself and vote in good time!
