Empowering students, enriching campus life!

Thank you for taking the time to visit my manifesto!

My name is Helen Peters and I am a third year Applied Bioscience student.

Before coming to uni I enjoyed a career in a corporate environment where I grew and learnt numerous life skills which have influenced me to be who I am today. I have worked with a variety of people from different cultures, faiths and orientations, giving me a wealth of experience in being able to build relationships and effective communication skills. I'm an approachable and empathetic person and can receive and give out feedback confidently, whilst staying respectful and discreet.

My main goal is to speak to as many students as I can and to use your feedback to make recommendations to enhance your time at uni. I would love all students to be able to reflect upon their time at uni as a wonderful experience and I am dedicated to helping that happen. Experience has taught me to not be afraid of speaking up, so you can be assured whatever you feel is necessary I will confidently speak to those in senior roles to make the difference YOU would like to see.

If elected I look forward to working with you, empowering students, and enriching campus life!

INTERNATIONAL STUDENT SUPPORT

t can be a daunting time arriving in a new country, meeting new people and studying. I would like to increase support for international students upon their arrival to ensure they enjoy settling in, have opportunities to meet new friends and know who to turn to with any problems they may face.

COST OF LIVING

With bills on the increase and not much support for students we are all feeling the pinch. On top of studying, it is a stress no student needs. I plan to work on this by gaining extra support from the university and lobbying local government to push for change to help provide the support students need to get through these tough times.

ENROLMENT

Quick and easy enrolment is essential to be able to settle in, access resources needed to begin studying, and even receive student funding. I would like make this journey easy, streamlined and a happy experience for all students.

STUDENT SAFETY

This is important for everyone! I plan to work closely with support services to ensure relevant issues are addressed and students are aware of what is available to them.

FACILITIES

I would like to improve various provisions on campus, such as catering and car parking.
