Dear fellow students,

As a passionate advocate for student activities and community engagement, I am excited to announce my candidacy for the role of Activities Officer. I believe that student activities are an integral part of university life, offering opportunities for personal growth, skills development, and socialization. I am committed to representing your interests, promoting your voices, and ensuring that student activities thrive at the Coventry University Group.

If elected, I will aim to achieve the following three goals:

1. Foster Inclusivity and Diversity: I believe that all students should have access to sports, societies, and volunteering opportunities, regardless of their background or identity. I will work towards creating a more inclusive and diverse student community by promoting multi-faith activities, and cultural and faith representation, and ensuring that underrepresented students have access to related resources and activities. I will also encourage the development of new student groups that reflect the diversity of our community and promote a sense of belonging.

2. Improve Engagement and Participation: As Activities Officer, I understand the importance of maintaining strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure that student activities are well-funded, well-supported, and highly visible. I will work closely with all elected officers and the Students' Union Committees to ensure that all students are represented and actively engaged in university life. I will also lead showcase Sports and Societies events to increase participation, promote healthy competition, and celebrate student achievements.

3. Enhance Health and Well-being: I believe that physical exercise, mental health, and well-being are essential for academic success and personal growth. As Activities Officer, I will promote the pursuit of health and well-being by contributing to campaigns related to health, organizing fitness classes, and encouraging students to participate in outdoor activities. I will also ensure that appropriate procedures and policies are in place for the safety and duty of care of all students participating in Your SU activities, volunteering, and sports.

If elected, I will work tirelessly to achieve these goals and ensure that student activities remain a vibrant and integral part of university life. I am a self-starter, driven, and passionate about creating change for students involved in student activities. I have the skills and experience necessary to build strong relationships and manage stakeholders to be as effective as possible. I promise to represent your interests, listen to your views, and work together with you to create change.
