Lets lift each other up!

Hi, my name is Hiten Mistry, I am a 3rd Year PhD Dance Researcher from C-DaRE Centre for Dance Research at Coventry University. One of the key reasons I would like to stand for the PGR Officer is to help all PGRs, even those who feel they don't have a voice or are heard. What makes me unique is I always endeavour to listen to every point of view to try shaping a way forward as I believe there is real strength in collective action and co-operation. Your vote for me as PGR Officer will ensure that I will go out of my way to address your concerns, feedback and development to the University. The three main goals of my tenureship as a PGR Officer will be as follows -

  1. COMMUNICATION - clear and constant communication between the research office, colleges and students around a variety of processes (including sourcing equipment, funding for research presentation and knowledge enhancing trips, access to lab equipment, times of access to where they will be based etc.)
  2. SUPPORT from the university working with the union about the social events for both staff and postgraduate students that are communicated well in advance and scheduled to allow those who may be teaching or more often based away from the main campus to attend
  3. INCLUSIVITY - To encourage all-inclusive academic and social events for all postgraduate students. To prompt and inspire inclusive ideas for events to make students of all backgrounds feel safe and welcome by the university to help bridge cultural barriers and gaps in communication.
