Empowering Diversity, Uniting Our Community

Dear fellow students,

I am thrilled to announce my candidacy for the role of Community Officer at Coventry University. My name is Mohamed Awad Yousif Ahmed, AKA Mohamed Sigeir. With my passion for representing and advocating for student interests, I am confident that I am the right candidate to bring positive changes to our student community.

If elected as your Community Officer, I will work tirelessly to achieve three main goals that are close to my heart:

First, I will increase representation and inclusivity for underrepresented student groups. Our diverse student body is what makes Coventry University a thriving and dynamic place to learn, but it's crucial that every student feels welcome and supported. As your Community Officer, I will ensure that the needs of international students, BAME students, and various groups are heard and addressed. I will work closely with the other sabbatical officers and the University's Equality and Diversity Committee to make sure that every voice is heard, and every student's needs are met.

Second, I will foster a strong sense of community and engagement among students. I believe that a vibrant and supportive student community is fundamental to a positive university experience. As your Community Officer, I will organize exciting events and campaigns that celebrate our diversity and promote inter-cultural engagement. From cultural festivals to sports events, from charity fundraisers to academic workshops, I will bring our community together and create unforgettable memories.

Finally, I am committed to promoting sustainability and social responsibility. As a unionist, I firmly believe that we have a responsibility to work towards a better future for ourselves and our planet. If elected, I will work to encourage sustainable practices within the Students' Union and the University. I will also support students in engaging with the local community through volunteering and community engagement.

My experience as a politician and unionist has given me the skills and knowledge to represent and advocate for the diverse needs of our student community. I am passionate about working for the greater good and bringing about positive changes that will benefit us all.

So, I urge you to vote for me as your Community Officer. Together, we can create a better and more inclusive university experience for all of us. Let's make Coventry University a place where every student feels heard, valued, and supported.

Thank you for your time, and I look forward to serving you as your Community Officer.

Sincerely,

Mohamed Awad Yousif Ahmed (Mohamed Sigeir)
