Academic appeals are designed to allow you to appeal results when circumstances beyond your control affected them. It is a request for a review of your results, progress or award decision agreed by the Programme Assessment Board (PAB).
Your Advice Service is here to support you with any questions that you have about Academic Appeals in this drop-in session, to support you in accessing the service and to provide information on how to write your appeal, as well as through long-term casework support (including reviewing your appeal before you submit it and supporting with next steps if you do not get the outcome you are looking for). Find our webpage on Academic Appeals here.
The University's Group Resolution Unit (GRU) who process appeals will also be with us in Your SU reception offering their own appeals drop-ins. They can answer any questions that you have about academic appeals, including the grounds involved, the limitations of the process, potential outcomes and what to do if you are wanting to challenge academic judgement.
