Too Quick To Judge

A short-film that teaches us that we shouldn't be too quick to judge people.

Deafness is an invisible disability. In this short film a young man is trying to be friendly and makes some assumptions about the girl he is talking to; it's important to remember that it's not fair to judge a book by its cover.

Assumptions around disability can lead to judgement, a deaf person might be considered rude or arrogant for ignoring someone, and other invisible disabilities can lead to other assumptions. To improve your knowledge and understanding of invisible disabilities you can take our Invisible Disabilities training, it's free and takes only 30 minutes. At the end you will receive a certificate of completion and have a better understanding of some of the assumptions you might hold around disability and the experiences of those with invisible disabilities.

You can also become more deaf-aware, and develop new skills, at our BSL (British Sign Language) Club online events, the next BSL Club event is Friday 11th February and they are a great way to learn a new language without the pressure of an exam at the end. Each week covers a different topic and they're also a great way to meet new people.
