Your Students' Union is undertaking research into how LGBTQ+ inclusive universities across the Midlands are experienced and perceived to be, and how this can impact Undergraduate students' academic success, sense of belonging and satisfaction. We have two exciting opportunities for you to get involved!

This research is funded by Coventry University and in collaboration with Your Students' Union. The research is LGBTQ+ community centered and has been developed with LGBTQ+ students through a research working groups. Taking part in an interview and/or the reasearch group will give you the opportunity to shape, influence and be part of research into improving LGBTQ+ inclusion in higher education and shape the outcomes of the research to ensure it genuinely improves LGBTQ+ inclusion here at Coventry University and wider.

• Take part in a research interview

We are looking for LGBTQ+ Undergraduate students and student leaders/representatives over the age of 18 who have completed at least one year of study to take part in an interview to tell us about their experiences and perceptions of inclusion. You will provide valuable first-hand information from your own perceptions and experiences of LGBTQ+ inclusion. The interviews will take around an hour. Any information provided in the interviews will be anonymised, and there is no compensation for participating in this study, however, your participation will be valuable to the research, and the findings could lead to a greater public understanding of LGBTQ+ inclusion in UK higher education.

• Join the Student Research Group

This is an ad-hoc role and will involve attending some meetings with other students (virtually or in-person). You will be asked to review different elements of the research including survey design, data findings etc. and give ideas and suggestions for the development of the research.

The role is voluntary, but volunteers will have the opportunity to receive a Leadership Award through Your Students' Union as well as develop knowledge and experience of research processes.
