Heart-warming volunteering in the heat

Even though the UK is in the grip of a heatwave, our student volunteers did not seek out somewhere cool to go to on Wednesday 13 July, far from it. Instead, twenty seven of them spent several hours working across three city centre British Heart Foundation stores helping out on a taster day event.

The CUSU volunteering team held their Coffee and Meet networking event on Tuesday 14 June, on what had to be one of the warmest days of the year so far. It was fortunate that the event took place in the spacious and airy surroundings of The Courtyard in The Hub.

 
Super sorters: enhancing futures, saving lives

The CUSU Volunteers were out in force on 18 May by taking part in one of the Volunteer Taster Days. The days are designed to give students a taste of what volunteering is all about and the event, which was working in collaboration with the British Heart Foundation, was a huge success.
